Yesterday I completed 60 minutes of gamma frequency with no noticeable benefits. I did experience and enjoy a colorful light show, but I'm looking for more than that. Most people describe me as calm, my mind is usually sharp without the use of caffeine, and I am very healthy. Perhaps my mind is already operating at gamma frequency so there is not much of a difference? Perhaps gamma is not the best frequency for me to select? I am looking for an altered state of consciousness, or to enter a deep meditative state as I have with float tanks. During the session my mind was engaged the entire time, not overactive, but the same as I operate without the light. This light seems to have great potential, but I simply can't pay $3333 for a light show. I had an AMAZING experience, about 1 year after having had a healing with the Ajna Light (my friend and I both went to use the light at the same time).
I was sat in my office in London, when I suddenly and BRILLIANTLY felt sincere appreciation and very amazing Love in my whole body. The Root was deeply connected to my friend (who was in Thailand at the time.); and when I mentioned the experience to him, he said that only a few hours before (bearing in mind Thailand is behind the UK, in time), he had had a treatment with the Ajna Light. ... Just a reminder about epilepsy and flashing lights:
Do take care to watch new users on the light. About 1 in 4000 people have epilepsy. If they are on medication they know to stay away from flashing lights. It is easy to spot a seizure, the body starts rapid shaking. Then immediately turn the light away from then (not turning off on the tablet, that takes too much time) and hold the persons body until the shaking stops. In 1000's of people I have put on the light over 4 years it has happened maybe 3 or 4 times.
I am just telling you so you pay attention to new users. You should ask them first if they have ever had any seizure of course, but occasionally someone is epileptic and does not know. You may never come across it, but just take care to stay around a new user. The user has no memory of the episode, and it is not medically threatening when caught immediately. I looks more dramatic on the outside than it seems to feel to the receiver.
Epileptics have done very well with the light in 4 cases I know. They just start by running at 2% intensity for 2 minutes or even less. It is simply an over sensitivity to light stimulation. We tend to label any sensitivity as abnormal having to be medicated, like ADHD, but a more helpful approach is to work with it positively, and the Ajna Light allows us to do this. These epileptics say they love the light. ... See MoreSee Less

At some point it becomes evident that, in the absence of the egoic mind's thinking activity, the enlightened state is who and what we inherently are. This insight or realization is most powerful when it comes as an instant "gestalt", not as a result of thinking-activity or intellectual reasoning.
Such insight reveals conclusively that the natural state is already a condition of "Great Perfection", or enlightenment and it is who or what we really are. The Anja Light can facilitate this insight realization..
When a person leaving a movie theatre is asked what he or she has just witnessed, virtually everyone will describe a story of one kind or another. Some may be inspired to declare who were the good guys and who were the bad guys, and what was likable and what was detestable about the movie. Virtually no one will state that a play of coloured light on a white screen was the only thing observed.
Yet much of our experience of the world is simply a play of light, stimulating the optical nerves to create a holographic, seemingly "3D", kind of experience in the space of mind. This is how a baby experiences life for the first six to nine months.
Taking the play of light and translating it into experiences which we "like" and "dislike", and stories that we believe or disbelieve is precisely how the egoic mind generates karma, and forget-fulness of the natural state - a condition we all embody, in which enlightenment is already the primordial condition.
In this VIEW, enlightenment is not something to "generate" or "get", it is what remains when illusion falls away.
The Ajna light affords its user the opportunity to observe the play of light on the screen of the mind in such a way that conceptual grasping is minimized.
Yes, we can see different colours, and we can differentiate between "center" and "periphery", and between movements of various kinds. But to think about this while under the light is to move from simple perception, in which there is no mental obscuration, to mental grasping, which is the wellspring of intellectual obscuration.
If, while experiencing the Anja Light, we see the play of moving colours and begin the process of conceptually designating that "this is this" and "that is that", we are moving away from , not back to, enlightenment. On the other hand, if we allow a) the heart to remain open, b) the mind to fall quiet, c) a sense of wonder and d) profound ease (or deep relaxation) to arise, then very favorable conditions for the thinning of intellectual obscuration arise. This is not a form of "practice"'; it is not a kind of "doing" or "activity"; and it is not "result-oriented". All of this would be more egoic mind.
When we experience the light much in the same way that a 6 month old child would, it is relatively easy to experience direct introduction to the "natural state" or "the nature of mind".
My sense is that recognizing the natural state is, at least in part, a somatic event. It is not merely intellectual. It has nothing to do with, and is not "generated by" goal-oriented or 'specific-intention-based' meditation. On the other hand, the deeper the relaxation, the more complete the mental letting go, the more open the heart, the more are the favorable the causes and conditions for liberating insight to arise.
Liberation for whom? For no one. It is rather liberation FROM the notion that there is a "doer" who can "strive" and then "attain" some "special state" which is "liberated". A six month old child has no conception of doing a practice to obtain a goal, and in this sense is closer to the natural state than a seasoned meditator who strives and struggles to perfect a technique of "practice".
The insight or experience of "back to enlightenment" is really very simple when it arises naturally - and much more complicated than it need be when an effort is made to talk about it in dualistic language in terms of a "self" who "does" and then "achieves". The state itself is not in the category of things that "arise" or "appear", but is rather akin to the space of awareness in which things happen.
In the absence of thinking activity and conceptual designations, there is no one in need of liberating. The Ajna Light sets up very favorable causes and conditions for this insight arise. Why? Because the play of light can re-program the neural network away from the tendency for mental grasping which is the root of ignorance, particularly when a), b), c) and d) as mentioned above are present. It's not helpful or necessary to see the light as a form of practice, because this implies a "doer" who is "striving". Its easier and more natural to just be a six-month-old child.
At a certain point, consciousness may remember and even "recognize" its true status, free of obscurations, something for which some meditators strive unsuccessfully for decades.
Over time, insight and realization may become permanent. The Letting Go and Opening Up which facilitate realization are most fruitful when they happen naturally, in the absence of willed intention, and this is exactly what the light (with possibly crystals, holosync, and the bio-mat) facilitates. ... There is a fine and useful Sanskrit word which is very useful, and it is the word "adhara". It means the body-mind. My recent experience with the Anja Light (I'm using it in conjunction with the Swiss Biomat) suggests that it makes contemplative experience quite easy. Some distinctions are useful here. The term meditation is often meant to suggest that there is a technique and a doer and the doer does the technique to get the result, such as a state of consciousness. The term contemplation is sometimes used to mean a state of consciousness which carries on effortlessly in the absence of any technique or even intent. In Christian mysticism, this would be called "infused" contemplation, as opposed to active contemplation, which involves effort. Hopefully that's enough terminology to discuss the point I have in mind.
Having worked through the Preliminaries in Tibetan Buddhist practice, one comes to Dzogchen, considered the highest teaching and practice. This essentially consists of receiving a "pointing out" of the nature of mind, and abiding in that state thereafter. It is both not as easy as it might seem, and too easy to be easy. However, my experience with the light is that the natural state (a topic free mind sustained without distraction and without effort) becomes easy. In an earlier post, I referred to the action of the light as an "attunement process". One might use the analogy of tuning a harp. When rightly tuned, all the strings resonate harmoniously; pluck one string and there are sympathetic resonances from the rest which are naturally harmonious. I've worked out a protocol which induces a kind of somatic meditation (meditation of the body), or you can say, more accurately, a protocol which leads to effortless contemplation of the entire adhara.
The protocol is simple. You begin with 20 mins of Schumann. Then you go on to 20 mins of Theta. Then 20 mins of Delta. Then 20 mins of gamma. There should be some pause in between each of these sessions to rest in the most peaceful state of body-mind as possible, and no thought of doing anything except being at peace and free of mental activity. I am using Holosync in good earphones. The Dive is used for the first 20 mins. Immersion is used for the next 2 sessions. And gamma is used for the last session. The pauses between sessions are important, so as much as 2 hours may be appropriate to work through the sequence.
The result is a state of natural contemplation where body and mind together (the total adhara) are immersed in utter relaxation and easy thought-free presence. The peace can be so deep that it seems one could rest this way, wide awake, with no effort to suppress thoughts, for eternity.
Typically, meditators struggle to arrive at, and then sustain, thought-free rigpa. This can be partly because of imperfect understanding, but partly also because the body-mind carry residues of thinking activity, karmic patterns, busy neural networks, habits of distraction, etc. etc. The above protocol sifts out all of this and makes it easy to arrive at the kind of non-meditation (or infused contemplation) considered to be the highest state in Dzogchen. This is often or usually accompanied by a bright state of awareness where spiritual insights are ready-to-hand, and this luminous quality of awareness is one hallmark of the authenticity of the state.
I have only worked with the light for a couple of weeks or so, and not every day by any means. However, I feel that this line of experience is quite promising. I title this post "Somatic Contemplation" because I've learned by direct experience that "attunement" of the adhara is vitally important to bring all parts of the being into an effortless state of what would be called "infused contemplation" within the Christian tradition, or the "natural state" in Tibetan Buddhism.
Holosync is a complete system of mental attunment in its own right, of course. And the Swiss biomat is a complete system of healing in ITS own right. I should add that I hold two medium-sized but clear rose quartz crystals, one in each hand, and have two black shiva lingams just below the soles of the feet - although any grounding stone would do, and I've found Wyoming Jade to be the best.
I hope these points will prove helpful for those who see the light as a way forward in the journey of meditation. The important point that I've learned is that skimming away the restless imprints that everyone carries in the adhara is vitally important to arrive at, and rest effortlessly in, the "natural state", which is nothing other than profound peace, effortlessly thought-free and luminous mind, and easily sustainable, but total relaxed awakeness. I'm highlighting the term "Somatic Contemplation" because the very cells of the body can be induced to participate in the state, and a truly "integral" contemplative experience arrive at with ease. I've meditated for years, and studied Dzogchen carefully, and completed the Ngondro, which may not be everyone's path to this experience. But, whatever your path, you may find that some experimentation with the protocol described above will be beneficial. I do hope so. All the best! ... See MoreSee Less

Wishing everyone who watched the Joe Rogan interview of Dennis McKenna and joined the Ajna Light Community over the last few days a very warm welcome.
Since the earliest days of the Ajna Light when I first brought it to Perth, Australia in 2014, there has been a lot of interest in floatation tanks and the Ajna Light.
I will be bringing the Ajna Light back to Tyringham Hall in June for ESPD50 conference with Dennis. Dennis agrees there is an endogenous DMT effect from the Light. His friend Dr Steve Barker suggested taking an MAOI (totally legal, the b. Caapi vine used in ayahuasca for example) then using the Light. This enhances the endogenous DMT effect. We have had very power experiences doing this. I decided to make it into High Tea, which is just like a nice cup of tea, without the hardcore 3 hour ayahuasca brew. So no purging effect.
I will be serving High Tea and the Light at ESPD50.
I feel allowing people to have a significant DMT experience using the Light connects them directly to human consciousness (the light is the spiritual basis of so many religions, it is the carrier of the informational field in quantum physics, which I think is identical to the Akasha/dreamtime). Ayahuasca is powerful, but it is plant consciousness.
Thank you all for being part of the new journey of post materialist shamanism. It is our personal journey, not that of some old powerful organization. ... See MoreSee Less

EVERYTHING goes better, and particularly Ajna light attunement, when the heart chakra is open. I have found that Rose Quartz, and particularly clear specimens from Madagascar, are excellent for supporting the heart-opening. So having Rose Quartz in your hands while under the light, with awareness of keeping the heart chakra open (with feeling, intuitively, not as a mentally-willed process) can be a very good start to using crystals with Ajna or Neuro-light experience. Another crystal which has superb supportive ability, but is little understood is Green Fluorite. If you type in the names of promising crystals and add the word "metaphysical", you can begin to work crystals into your light-experience, as you feel guided and appropriate. The possibilities are almost endless, and the use of crystals can be as supportive as the use of sound, when implemented skillfully. It's a whole new horizon of possibilities! ... See MoreSee Less
If the totality of our being is actually a great reservoir of wisdom, and if we can understand with something other than the thinking mind, and if we can act with freedom from ego, then nothing is impossible.
What is this alternate way of knowing, doing and being? It is the way of Cosmos itself, the way of allowing Cosmos to be the guide and doer of our lives.
It could not be simpler. We already ARE that which we seek, and we already EMBODY the wisdom of the ages. The Ajna and Neuro lights, in their full capacity, bring us to recognition of our reality as Cosmos experiencing itself as blissful-awareness-of-being (Sat-Chit-Ananda).
When we choose alignment with Cosmos, we choose to move and flow as the truth of our being. This is the choice of choices, for it opens the treasury of all that Cosmos has and is, and this becomes not only our inheritance, but more significantly, it is recognized as our real identity at the universal level of being.
The Ajna and Neuro lights are unique conduits of Cosmic Flow. Although at one level we can speak of vibration and vibrational information, and think in terms of an individual who receives "healing" or experiences a "higher consciousness", there is a truer way of seeing what is at work. The Ajna and Neuro lights facilitate full alignment to Source by promoting a more harmonious, continuous and conscious immersion in the Cosmic Flow.
In The Cosmic Flow
Cosmos is much more than we imagine it to be. Cosmos is actually a living, conscious process at the heart of our very being. In other words, the way Cosmos appears outwardly to our obscured minds differs from the way it actually exists in its own Being. Correction of confusion in this matter supports spiritual awakening.
Although in our modern culture we tend to separate our ideas about the Cosmos from any discussion of our deepest spiritual identity, in fact cosmos and all its parts, including humans, are one. A human microcosm is a fractal of the Cosmic body.
The Hermetic sages taught that: “As above, so below,” meaning that everything about us is "Cosmos-in-flow". You and I are “cosmos miniaturized”, and we are meant to flow as Cosmos flows. Therefore the knowledge of how Cosmos flows is knowledge of how we may actualize our full potential.
If we directly experience how we abide as and in the Cosmic Flow, we may come to intuit and then realize the essence of this Cosmic Flow. Conversely, by holding views contrary to the harmony of the Cosmic Flow, we re-enforce our highly individualized experiences of separation and suffering.
Lao Tzu described the cosmic creativity thus:
The Tao begot one. One begot two. Two begot three. And three begot the ten thousand things.
The ten thousand things carry yin and embrace yang. They achieve harmony by combining these forces. Tao Te Ching: Chapter 42
This can be paraphrased as follows: ‘In the beginning was the unformed Absolute. From it came the Singularity, or Source. From the Source came duality. From duality came the trinity. From the trinity there arose the multiplicity of the cosmic creation. The dual polarities of yin and yang are at work in all things; in and through what is formed (yin is matter), they open up to what is formless (yang is spirit). The harmony of all things is self-accomplished by alchemy of these forces.'
Why is this knowledge significant? It is useful knowledge because recognizing and abiding in the Cosmic Flow shifts the mind into "access-mode" in relation to enlightened awareness.
In the above quotation from the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu hints at something quite profound. He is implying that the flow of the Cosmos takes the form of a progression: Oneness becomes duality becomes triplicity becomes multiplicity becomes the human experience of multiplicity. In other words, Infinity flows as oneness, duality, triplicity and multiplicity.
Moreover this can be known in our human experience. And the knowing of it is significant for full awakening. In the enlightened state, it is clearly recognized that you and I and all that appears is only variations of Cosmic Flow.
Beyond individual healing and individualized experiences in consciousness, the Ajna and Neuro lights can act to impart this "wisdom" at a somatic, etheric, energetic and supra-intellectual level in the body-mind of the recipient.
A Form of Spiritual Practice
The way we practice our spirituality flows from the view we have of how things really are. The view from the perspective of the egoic mind differs greatly from how reality appears to Cosmic Wisdom. In progressed spiritual practice, doing gives way to being and activity gives way to stillness. Cosmic Wisdom arises from allowing Cosmos to be the doer of all forms of practice, especially meditation, and Transcendental Wisdom arises from allowing Cosmos to flow unimpededly. What the egoic mind calls “non--doing”, Cosmos recognizes as a flow of Sat-Chit-Ananda in action.
Transcendental Wisdom takes the form of Cosmic Flow in and through the language of light, discussed in an earlier post. Those who open fully to Cosmic Flow come to realize Source and its manifestations as being one in essence.
Cosmic Flow may then be experienced as growing abundance in various areas of life. Coming into clear awareness of the Cosmic Flow, one is more creative, energized and clear about the right direction in life. Of course this is what Taoism is all about. But the Ajna and Neuro lights make it very easy to enter the flow of the Tao and realize it as the natural state.
Cosmos Is Enlightenment
The enlightened state knows the transcendental reality, or Ground of Being, as infinite awareness. But reality can also be known in its universal form as a primordial mandala.
The emergence of polarity from the undifferentiated continuum of Being marks the beginning of cosmic time, inseparable from cosmic space. Spirit then appears in contradistinction to matter; the positions of above and below define the Heaven-Earth Axis, and the dance of harmonious resolution begins to unfold.
First as the Heaven-Earth axis, Source manifests the polarities of Yin and Yang. Then, complexifying into the quadripolar field of the four elements, Earth, Water, Fire and Air, there is a movement into form. The primordial mandala depicts the clear light of Source as a central bindu and the four elemental energies arranged around it. Thus, the cosmic mandala is traditionally depicted in a way similar to the portals of the Ajna Light as being five in number.
Although the essence of all manifestations is everywhere present in a state free from characteristics, it acts continuously through its core archetypes. The fourfold, quadripolar manifestation evolves into an eight-fold level of complexity, illustrated in the eight trigrams which are basic to the I-Ching.
Acting as the primordial five, or as the evolved eight primordial forces, Cosmos perfects all things. As Heaven (or Yang Wind) it is a Radiant Presence opening a space where all things are possible. As Earth, (or Yin Earth) it holds a space of surrendered receptivity for the co-creative manifestation. As Fire, (or Yin Fire) it optimizes clarity of consciousness and awareness of the continuum. As Water, (or Yang Water) it deepens awareness towards profound release in the deep essence. As Wind, (or Yin Wind) it infuses and nurtures the emergence of integral wellbeing. As Thunder, (or Yang Fire) it catalyzes and activates the manifestation of intent. As Mountain, (or Yang Earth) it establishes silence and coherence for continuous Heaven-Earth alignment. And finally, as Lake, (or Yin Water) it mirrors Heaven’s harmonious order in Earth’s manifold forms, and draws them together as a joyous family.
This is the I-Ching's core depiction of Cosmic Flow. This the archetypal pattern of the reality in which we live and breathe and have our being. To move in harmony with reality is to embrace the Tao.
All of our doing, our mental judgments, separations, discriminations and evaluations and all the actions of body, speech and mind that derive from them are nothing but avoiding our primordial enlightenment. These have the effect of dimming our awareness of our inherent identity with the Cosmic Flow.
Only when we cease identification with the “doing” activity of ego on every level can the natural enlightenment of the cosmos show itself as already fully present and perfect, not only as our essence, but more creatively as our flow.
In the experience of light, colour and mandal-form of the Anja and Neuro lights, we may come to recognize the presence and power of the already-enlightened Cosmos manifesting its power and harmony in supremely creative fashion. What had been thought of as "me" or "myself" may then be recognized as nothing other than Cosmos, which is enlightenment-in-flow. ... See MoreSee Less
The Primordial Reality is often referred to, in the Indian Spiritual Tradition as Sat-Chit-Ananda, or Existence-Consciousness-Bliss. Chit, or consciousness is always accompanied by its energy, and the prime modality of this energy is light. Consciousness itself is often referred to as “clear light”. But light as we normally experience it is often accompanied by the phenomenon of colour and conveys an impression of luminosity or radiance. We sometimes say that light “illumines” or “enlightens” as if to suggest that the process of spiritual awakening is related to growth in the clear light of infinite awareness.
The Primordial Language is the self-communication of consciousness through its varied manifestations. This language is non-conceptual, non-verbal and non-dual. In other words, it is not using words to create conceptual designations about “things”. Rather, it is using vibration to manifest various potentials, forms and aspects of Primordial Reality. The nature of Primordial Reality can be experienced directly as empty knowingness, or unqualified awareness. It is sometimes called the Ground of Being, or Brahma, or the Nature of Mind, or the Absolute, and it is of course formless, un-graspable and ineffable, while being the source of all qualities and all possible experiences.
Vibration spans a vast range from the very rapid and fine vibrations of invisible light frequencies to the audible and sub-audible vibrations of sound. The various colours appear within this spectrum. When arranged in 2D configurations, the language of geometry and number come into play and varied forms such as mandalas and fractals appear. It is well known that the sound of OM and other pure mantric vibrations will create geometric mandala-patterns in sand, and sound, colour, light and vibrational medicine have all been used for healing. All human beings respond to vibrations of various kinds in a variety of ways, to heal and illumine or to en and destroy. When light, sound, colour and geometric form are combined, a very advanced form human anatomy, both physical and subtle, including the DNA to “remember” itself in its essential, or primordial state of being. There is a “cosmic memory” we all carry of who and what we really are. When we awaken fully we return to a full possession of all that consciousness has and is, including health and the ability to heal, wisdom and the fullness of knowledge, love and the realization of universal oneness, and creative inspiration, or the capacity to manifest harmony and beauty in form.
The Anja Light is a technology which brings the “Primordial Language” into play, and it has the capacity to accomplish all of the above. The results depend on the skill of the user and the receptivity of the recipient. There are many factors we have to learn through experimentation. The protocol for bringing any individual to a state of full self-actualization will depend on that individual, and may also be conditioned by factors such as timing, the prevailing astrology, soul contracts, personal beliefs of a possibly limiting nature, and so on. In fact developing a ‘universal protocol’ and training at least a few people to the point where they would be capable of teaching this protocol to others would be a very promising initiative. This could bring the full powers of the Anjna Light into play, and open doorways for the un-hindered blossoming of human potential. And what could be more interesting and valuable than that? ... I was just in Japan for two weeks. After the small light party in Kyoto, Ian Lewis and I went to the ancient Kumano Trail 3 hours south of Kyoto. We did a unique vision quest on the trail. It combined the Lakota Vision Quest and the Japanese Haiku tradition, walking the full Kumano Trail in two halves. At the center of the trail we camped for two nights and a day in silence, each fasting in our own space. I decided to do the tradition of staying with a small stone circle that time. I had no tent and it was very cold!!
Afterwards we were working on the haiku which came out of the vision quest. Part of the process were some shuginto rituals, one involved walking to a series of waterfalls in the most sacred part of Japan, where shuginto was founded.
I also arranged for light sessions with the MAOI microdose tea (in cacao form). It is so mild that there is no effect unless you use the Light, in which case the visuals are much stronger. The 8 out of 10 in our group who took the high cacao drink had very positive effects. One person completely rewrote his haiku after the light journey.
Shuginto incorporates shiva and Tibetan tradition with esoteric Buddhism, Shinto and Taoism. There is a powerful element of magic as you can hear in the video. They also seem closely related to Native American beliefs.
Thanks to Bryan Rill for organizing it. Bryan was a professor at PolyU in HK who researched the Ajna Light there. ... See MoreSee Less

I'm considering purchasing a light and I'm hoping someone here can help me with my decision. The main reason I'm considering it is for my depression, and also for chronic pain. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight about the Ajna vs. the Neuro Light for me. Thanks! ... See MoreSee Less

Hi all, I have an Ajna Light 2, and my iphone is not able to start the light sequence anymore. I sync up to the light just fine, but then when I press "generate" to create the light sequence, the cursor freezes (that whirly rainbow ball keeps spinning). And the light doesn't work. Any quick tech support out there? I have to teach an ajna light group meditation tomorrow morning. I thought mercury retrograde was over, but it seems I got the tailwind of the shadow ripples. Thanks Ajna peeps. ... See MoreSee Less
